That's not how it started

Feb 09, 2022

This is one painting followed by a series of images showing parts of the painting.
Zooming in on the details.

This painting evolved over many days. started as a landscape but moved into a more abstract area. I “let go” trying not to think (not easy). Guided by a mark, then a reaction to it, aware of colour, tone, composition, space, wet or dry paint. The key elements being “ Chance and Control". Let it happen, then decide the next move.
Why all this? To let out what is deep inside.
How do you know when to stop? When it feels new but familiar.

Looking at details can give the next move.
You see a design (that you made), but you were unaware of. It can be the start of another painting, not a copy but a reaction.
