Early Paintings

These paintings are some of my earlier works. Mainly painted in Lancashire, in Trawden and Colne.

It is apparent in these paintings that I am painting what I see around me. They are not as a photo nor from a photo but in most cases, from drawings. As for the subject, having built roofs I am interested in this activity as much as a stormy sky. Making a pretty picture was never on my mind.
